Chapter Five

Trick or treat!

Holy shit. Arthur Lance was kissing her. And kissing her. And, oh my, kissing her.

Maisy moaned as the star of all her high school fantasies ravaged her mouth like a man on a mission. Huge arms wrapped around her in a steel embrace as she willingly submitted to his masterful caress.

Nothing like this had ever happened to her before. Like never ever. Not once in her entire life had Maisy been kissed stupid. And yes, that was how she felt.

Not in the sense that she was an idiot. Like duh. More in the sense that she couldn’t think, speak, hear, or do anything but kiss him back. A task she would happily take on every day from here on out. The man was making her toes curl in her stockinged feet.

He was so big, his shoulders so wide, he made her feel small, safe, cherished in his arms. Like she was tiny. A first for her. But that wasn’t all. The sinfully rich chocolate scent she always associated with him was like a drug. She breathed him in, moaning as she pressed herself against his hard chest. Seeking, hoping to ease some of the ache he created deep inside of her with the contact.

She was breathless, mindless. This was what she meant by being kissed stupid. The years all fell away, and she felt exactly as she had when she’d first seen him. Awestruck. In the throes of her first real experience with lust, Maisy found she had no willpower to resist him.

Hell. Who was she kidding? She didn’t even want to try to fight the urge to give in to the temptation that was Arthur Lance. So much more potent as a man than he’d been as a boy. And back then, there was nothing better to Maisy Daniels than him.

It was just lust, right? Had to be. Her body swelled with need. Moisture pooled between her thighs. Maisy breathed in the chocolate-spice, totally masculine scent that clung to his skin, salivating for a taste. She didn’t know what had possessed him to act so impulsively.

Maybe it was the moon. Her too tight costume. The cinnamon scented air. Or some combination of the three. She couldn’t say. But the truth was, she’d wanted him to kiss her ever since that night she’d seen him turn into a Bear.

Memories came flooding back of high school, and all she’d endured ever since she’d claimed she saw him become a beast. But Maisy had never retracted her statement. She saw what she saw, and that was that.

Those facts didn’t deter her in the slightest. She had never named the boy, but Maisy knew. Had always known. Somehow, deep inside, she had been aware he was different.

Arthur Lance had a big old Bear inside of him.

And that wasn’t all, she thought with a naughty sigh as his hard cock pressed against her belly. He was just so big, everywhere. And she loved it. Loved the fact that he was kissing her with an urgency she matched.
